1. Kids Day 2025

A fun filled day at the Creston Museum, Kids Day is open to children of all ages. You’ll get to play old-fashioned games, go gold panning, do some laundry (don’t worry, we make it fun!) and so much more! Oh, did we mention you get to make your own ice-cream?! Stop by anytime from 10am – 4pm on Saturday, June 21st.

2. Make a Mug Night! 

Creston is a pottery mecca with so many talented clay artists here in the valley, why not give it a try yourself at the Pottery on Canyon Street Friday June 27th you can learn to hand build your own stoneware mug! No prior experience necessary! To register click here!

3. Creston Colour Run

“This high-energy event is more than just a vibrant fun run; it’s a movement fueled by community spirit and a shared passion for giving back. Whether you sprint, stroll, or dance your way through, the Creston Color Run is an unforgettable experience!” Happening June 28th at 3:30pm

4. A Visit to The Glass House 

“This unusual roadside attraction was built from over half a million discarded embalming fluid bottles. In 1952, David H. Brown retired from 35 years in the funeral business. It occurred to Mr. Brown that there should be some practical use to put the bottles to. And, it was all started, to quote Mr. Brown, to indulge a whim of a peculiar nature.” from their website here. This unique attraction is located just up the lake and is open 7 days a week May-Oct 

5. A Winery Tour! 

Creston is blessed to have some award winning estate wineries! Take a guided tour at Skimmerhorn winery (book ahead to reserve a spot) and enjoy a charcuterie board on the patio before walking next door to sit in the outdoor oasis at Baillie Grohman. Perhaps a bike ride down to Red Bird to cap it off! With gorgeous patios and breathtaking views, these are a must for all who live and those who come to play in the valley. 

6. Hop to Vine Hustle   

Speaking of wine, what if we combined your love for the outdoors and being active with everyone’s favorite Happy Hour! “The journey through scenic vineyards leads to eight tasting locations and culminates in a vibrant after-party celebrating local brews and wines.” buy your entry early! This event is on July 5th

7. Paddleboarding on Kootenay Lake 

A wonderful way to spend time on the water there is a great public access beach located next to the Kuskanook harbour. Even if you can’t get your hands on a paddleboard a beach day can be just as inviting! 

8.  Canyon Sweet Treat and Park Loop

If you haven’t treated yourself to soft serve from the Canyon Country Store you are very much missing out! This quaint little country store is located off the beaten path and that’s what makes it all the more special. Always graced with the traditional vanilla and chocolate they will often feature a dairy free alternative over the summer months (the pineapple is the best i’ve ever had!) After you have your sweet treat in hand, venture down the road to Canyon Park where you’ll find a wonderful easy to navigate simple loop trail great for the whole family (fur baby approved too). 

9. Swing and a Hit

The Creston Golf Club is playable for every level of golfer from novice to expert and has a great little restaurant The Mallery you can check out before or after your tee time, open from 7am-8pm

10. Splish Splash

Easily one of the best family activities there is, an afternoon spent at Centennial Park Splash Pad is always well loved. The perfect blend of park necessities, shaded picnic tables, and water fun, it entertains the youngins for hours. It’s on every family’s summertime bucket list!
